Raise & Back Pay
The 5.4% raise is in effect as of June 1, 2023.
Your October 13 paycheck should include this raise, as well as back pay to June 1.
Subsequent paychecks should reflect the 5.4% raise.
All fellows should have received a 5.25% raise earlier this year. Most fellows should see an additional wage increase to account for the 0.15% difference.
If you did not receive the raise or back pay, please let us know by filling out this form.
International Worker Subsidy
International workers on F1 or J1 visas—both TAs/RAs and fellows—are entitled to a $1,200 subsidy.
This subsidy was disbursed with the October 13 paycheck.
If you are an international worker on an F1 or J1 visa and you did not receive the subsidy, please let us know by filling out this form.
Dental Insurance
Dental insurance for MIT grad workers is now offered at a new 83.8% subsidized rate.
Grad workers who did not already sign up for the AY23–24 dental plan can sign up for the new, subsidized plan now through November 24 through the Gallagher Student Health website. Coverage for the plan will begin December 1.
Grad workers who enrolled in the AY23–24 dental plan at the previous rate
November 3: reimbursements distributed to those who enrolled in the AY23–24 dental plan.
If you paid the entire years’s premium in a single payment, you should receive $478.20.
If you signed up to pay monthly, you should receive TKTK. You should not be charged for November coverage and should not receive any monthly charges for your dental insurance going forward. Please check the account you used to register for monthly payments to confirm that you were not incorrectly charged a premium.
In order to receive the dental refund in your bank account, you must follow the refund instructions on this page. This requires that you give MITPay the account information for the desired direct deposit account, and then subsequently email sfs@mit.edu requesting that your dental refund be deposited in your account.
